How to apply
Before filling out the application form, please read the information below.
Applicants from the following countries should use the online application form:
EU-countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, and the Netherlands
Iceland, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey
Japan (note: applicants from Tokai University must use the paper application)
Applicants from China, Egypt, Israel, Russia and Japan (only Tokai University) should use the paper application that can be downloaded here.
How to apply
The deadline for applications for the Long-Term Scholarships under the Cultural Agreements Programme for the academic year 2012/2013 is February 28, 2012.
Please attach all supporting documents in the electronic application as PDFs.
Applications must be submitted both via the online application form and as a printed copy by regular mail, postmarked no later than February 28, 2012. Send a printout of the completed electronic application form and signed originals of the required documentation to:

All documents should be translated into English and should be certified. Please do not staple, paper clip, or in any way attach documents to each other.
Required documents to be enclosed in applications
- Curriculum vitae signed and dated by the applicant.
- Translated and certified copies of the applicant's diplomas.
- Detailed programme for study/research period in Denmark (ie. courses the applicant plans to attend or research projects he/she plans to conduct).
- Certificate of proficiency in English.
Please note: Some universities have other requirements regarding proof of proficiency in English, such as the TOEFL test, IELTS test, or comparable tests. Ask the Danish university where you wish to study about requirements and enclose the applicable documentation in your application. The Certificate of Proficiency in English, TOEFL test and/or IELTS test should be filled out and signed by the relevant authority or language school at the institution in your home country.
Optional documentation which may be enclosed in applications
- Letter of invitation or admission from the requested higher education institution in Denmark.
- Letter of recommendation from a lecturer who teaches you Danish at your home university.
- Letter of recommendation and/or 2 references (name, telephone number, and e-mail).

Timeline for processing of applications
February 28, 2012: Deadline for applications for the Long-Term Scholarships.
Early May 2012: E-mail notification to applicants regarding their application status. Applicants will be informed whether or not their application has been approved by the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation and been forwarded to the requested Danish host institution for assessment and final approval.
Applicants who are approved by the Danish host institution will subsequently receive a Letter of Confirmation of their Danish Government Scholarship under the Cultural Agreements by regular mail and by e-mailed attachment. Applicants who are not approved by the Danish host institution will be informed at the same time.
Please note: If your application is approved by the Danish Agency for Universities and Internationalisation and forwarded to your requested Danish host institution for assessment and final approval, the Danish host institution may ask you to fill out its own general application form. You must meet the Danish host institution's application deadline in order to receive a scholarship.
