Links to Danish university colleges

University colleges (Professionshøjskoler) offering professional bachelor and diploma programmes in fields such as

  • business
  • education
  • engineering
  • health
  • social work.

Programmes in these fields are also offered at specialized colleges.

The university colleges are independent, state-regulated higher education institutions. They are comitted to offer undergraduate study programmes as well as diploma courses, aiming at both the public and the private sector. Most of their financing comes from the state, and their study programmes must be accredited by the Danish Accreditation Counsel and approved by the Ministry of Education.  The University Colleges are comparable to the German and Austrian Fachhochschulen.

The university colleges have a strong regional commitment and must coorperate with universities, research institutions as well as industry and business.
