Arrival at Copenhagen Airport or the Copenhagen Central Station
The fastest and cheapest way to get to Nyborg is by train. Having left the customs area at Copenhagen Airport, continue straight ahead and you will find the Danish State Rail office and the tracks one floor down. Trains leave three times every hour to Copenhagen Central Station - but some trains will go directly to Nyborg.
There are train directly from the Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, and other trains where you will have to change in Høje Tåstrup or at Copenhagen Central. Ask at the information desk upon arrival which one will be the best or find more information on the webpage of the DSB (Trains).
A round trip is app. 50 euros, incl seat reservation.
In Nyborg there will be taxis outside the station, but it's possible to walk. There is 2 km to the venue and the price is app. 10 euros.
If you arrive the night before
You can stay in Copenhagen and go by train the next morning (It takes around 1½ hours).
A good and not too expensive place close to the railway station is www.cabinn.dk - choose the one in City. For further information about hotels and activities in Copenhagen, click here.
If you want to go directly to Nyborg, please contact reception@dsb.dk and tell them that you are in the Danish Agency for International Education group, starting October 9. You will have to pay for the extra night.
Currency
Denmark is one of the few EU-countries without the euro. The Danish currency is kroner/crowns, and one euro is close to 7,5 kr/DKK.
The weather
The weather in Denmark is cold, and rain can be a possibility in October.
Close to 10 degrees Celcius is normal. It might be warmer, but please bring warm clothes.
The venue is situated close to the beach which means there are nice, long walks along the coast if you like that.
Nyborg
The town is situated on Funen/Fyn (the island in the middle if you look at a map of Denmark), 120 km from Copenhagen.
You can find more information on the webpage of Nyborg.
Odense
Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish author of fairy tales, was born in Odense, only 30 km from Nyborg.
